Limited Release: AMPLFY, Amplify West Coast IPA

Niseko is currently experiencing its most beautiful season, enveloped in fresh greenery and birdsong. Yet, the patches of lingering dirty snow evoke a slight sense of reluctance for the passing season. While it's the perfect time for outdoor barbecues, soon the weeds will grow vigorously, and the season of bees and horseflies will arrive.

Now, let me introduce our limited-edition product, "AMPLFY, Amplify West Coast IPA."

Our craft beers are designed with a primary focus on maximizing the unique characteristics of the hops, rather than significantly altering the malt bill for each brand. This particular beer, "AMPLFY," is a single-hop IPA using Hollingbery & Son's Vista hops.

While we typically procure many of our hops through direct contracts with suppliers, the Vista hops used this time were sourced outside of our usual contracts, from Hakko Supply, led by Mr. Gareth Burns. In recent years, an increasing number of breweries in Japan have adopted Hollingbery hops, and such access is of great value to a small-scale operation like ours. The information that can be gleaned from analytical values alone is limited when it comes to hop quality; we are once again reminded of the importance of actually smelling the hops on-site. Furthermore, a West Coast Lager also made with Hollingbery's Citra is currently lagering, and we are very much looking forward to its completion as well.

The pelletized Vista hops initially offered aromas reminiscent of yellow peach and apricot, but after dry-hopping, they transformed into nuances of green melon and blackberry. This West Coast style beer boasts a refreshing quality balanced with a solid bitterness, resulting in a satisfying and full-bodied drink.
