We've updated our A Greener World label.
We've updated the label for our signature pale ale, A Greener World. We've been selling it alongside the old design for a while, and I think most stock in liquor stores and other retailers has probably been replaced by now.
Many people liked the previous label, but to refresh our labels starting late last year, we once again asked @koko_shonomiya to create this design. It captures a scene of a bear family living quietly in the forest, symbolizing our "Cause."
Lately, my heart aches every time I hear news of bear-related incidents, but I've also put a wish into this label: that animals can live peacefully in places where they don't interact with humans.
Our brewery and home are on the same property, located at the edge of the woods. Wild birds and small animals are like neighbors, living in the same community, and we live with nature every day.
While we cleared part of nature to build our home and brewery and live here, we are constantly amazed by the resilience of nature we experience. Walnuts hidden by squirrels in the shadow of the woodshed in autumn, then forgotten, sprout and quickly grow into large trees; if we're not careful, weeds taller than us quickly cover the property. Sometimes, nature even skillfully uses human activities to threaten our way of life.
We tend to view it as "humans vs. nature," but human prosperity within nature is probably temporary, just a small part of a larger flow. The more I live here, the more I feel that we are destined to eventually be swallowed up by that flow.
