West Coast Lager - Simcoe Edition
While our previous West Coast Lager utilized Citra, we recently acquired a very high-quality batch of 2024 Simcoe. We wanted to incorporate this hop into our new flagship lager, so we used it during the whirlpool and for two dry-hopping additions.
This particular Simcoe batch stands out for its exceptionally high Methyl Geranate content compared to other lots, which we anticipate will contribute to sustained flavor throughout the brewing process. It offers vibrant citrus and berry notes, with a subdued melon impression. This hop was cultivated at Wyckoff Farms in Washington State, which received Platinum in the 2024 Top Cut Award Winners (Medium Farm Category) from Yakima Chief Hops, and its splendid aroma is apparent the moment the bag is opened.
We are delighted to have secured such a wonderful hop and to have incorporated it into our beer. We sincerely hope you all have the opportunity to savor this special brew.
It is available at Niseko Roadside Station View Plaza @michinoekiniseko and through our online shop. Starting this weekend, you can also enjoy it at @craftpub_brianbrew.
For restaurants, it is available through goooods and Best Beer Japan. More details can be found in our profile.
